Stéphane Nicoll

After two successful talks, we continue our series of talks for the Euregio Maas-Rhine with „Building cloud native apps with Spring Boot“ by Spring Boot committer Stéphane Nicoll from Pivotal, Inc. Stéphane comes to us from Liège. He is an Apache Maven PMC member since 2006, joined the core Spring Framework development team early 2014, and is one of the main contributors to both Spring Framework and Spring Boot since.

When and where

The event will be held on Thursday, the 8th of October 2015, at 18:30 (doors open 18:00), again at the bitstars GmbH headquarter, Hanbrucher Straße 40, 52064 Aachen. Admission is free, but you are asked to register via Google forms so that we know how many guests to expect. We will have a raffle of Java-related books from O’Reilly between the preregistered guests before the talk starts. After talk we wrap up with some free drinks together with the speaker, giving you the opportunity to ask him some more questions in private.

Abstract of the talk

Spring Boot, the new convention-over-configuration centric framework from the Spring team at Pivotal, marries Spring’s flexibility with conventional, common sense defaults to make application development not just fly, but pleasant! Ideal for microservices and for all your distributed systems and devops needs. Join Spring Boot committer Stéphane Nicoll for a look at what Spring Boot is, why it’s turning heads, why you should consider it for your next application (REST, web, batch, big-data, integration, whatever!) and how to get started.
